Overview of the Institute
Marx & Engels International Humanities Exchange Association - MEIA was founded in Manchester, England, on the occasion of the 202nd anniversary of Marx's birth on May 5, 2020.
In the 19th century, Manchester was once the center of the industrial revolution that attracted the world's attention in the history of human development. Its modern cotton textile industry and efficient railway and canal transportation all left a deep impression on the world. At the same time, with the rapid development and transformation of industrialization, a variety of theoretical thoughts and social movements have also been born here, and many world-renowned thinkers, sociologists and philosophers have emerged. Marx and Engels are their most famous representatives. It was in Manchester that Engels completed and published the famous Survey Report on the Status of the British Working Class.
